...and oh what a big boy am I

Well, CJ started kindergarten today ... a few days later than expected but now moving full speed ahead.
Obviously I can't take pictures all the time, but I did manage to get a few in today during our table times so you all could share in his first day ...

Here we are practicing our sounds and doing our face exercises. This helps CJ with his oral motor skills as well as his talking.

aaaa....eeee....oooo

We are also practicing circles and lines. Currently CJ still needs a lot of help, but he is starting to copy the shapes which will be a huge milestone once achieved.

CJ likes doing puzzles (helps with matching and shape sorting) and loves the Melissa and Doug sound puzzles that reward him with a sound everytime he gets a piece in. We are going to have to move to harder puzzles, he is doing these so well.

I also managed to take a few shots while Ceej was doing flashcards. I called out the object and he had to both identify it and say it back to me. He did great!

Well, that's all for now, but at least you got to see a few of the things we did today :-)

Hope you all had a great day too!

Birthday Boys

We opted out of the 'birthday party' thing this year and went for a family dinner instead. The grandparents came up as well as my sister and her husband and everyone got to spend time with the kids.
CJ turned 5, July 30, and T will be 8 on August 19... boy does time fly!
Anyway, here are some pics from the family get together. Thanks for the help guys!

School Days Again...

WOW! Summer FLEW by!

Thomas officially started Third Grade today!
This promises to be a challenging year for him as his work load is increasing and many of the skills he has been learning are going to be used and stretched.
Prayerfully
, we can start off disciplined and with a good attitude so as to set a good precedence for the rest of the year.

CJ is not far behind... I am readying his materials and he will officially start Kindergarten next week. (This is where Mommy's abilities are going to be stretched and challenged, so pray here too!)
